Mattia is an expert in Business-to-Government engagement strategies. He can support in areas such as engaging governments and international institutions, both in developed and developing world; designing a comprehensive regulatory and institutional strategy; extracting value from available foreign trade and export support mechanisms. He is an engineer by training with degrees both from Politecnico di Milano, Italy and Ecole Centrale Paris, France. He has a Master of Public Administration from Harvard's Kennedy School of Government, where he majored in Industry Regulation and Analysis. He is member of the Italian Republic's Order of Merit.

Previously, he worked with McKinsey and Co. and then with the Italian Department of the Treasury where he worked on the privatization of SOE's such as Enel (energy), Alitalia (airways), Tirrenia (ferry lines). He actively participated in the regulation of several infrastructure sectors (toll roads, airports, ferry lines, railways, water). He has served in the board of Tirrenia di Navigazione and Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato. Mattia has been Executive Director at the Inter-American Development Bank in Washington, representing Italy, Germany, China, Israel, Switzerland, Belgium and the Netherlands. In this capacity he has extensively worked in the financing of high-impact public and private investments throughout Latin America. Whithin the Board he has been Vice-Dean of the Bank's Steering Committee, Chairman of the Organization and Human Resources Committee, member of the Ethics and Professional Conduct Committee.

He is an Advisor at the Italian Ministry of Economic Development working on policies regarding the internationalization of the business system, such as Governement's trade policy, promoting and supporting Italian exporters and investors abroad, supporting foreign investors interested in acquiring and/or developing business in Italy.
