He has been Responsible for European Fixed Income Trading at Morgan Stanley International, CFO at Monte dei Paschi di Siena (where he led the IPO in 1999), CEO of Sanpaolo IMI Asset Management and Sanpaolo Vita, Head of European Investment Banking for Credit Suisse (First Boston), Deputy CEO and Global Head of Banking at Royal Bank of Scotland (post UK Government bail-out in 2009).
Marco has also been involved at institutional level for the EU Commission as a member of the Liikanen Group in charge to reform the banking industry and for the European Banking Authority as Stakeholders Group representative. He has also been on the Board of Borsa Italiana and Ospedale San Raffaele (Milano), Vice Chairman of MTS and EuroMTS, Lead Independent Director of Harrods Ltd (London) and Lindorff Group AB (Oslo). More recently he has been a Director at Kairos Investment Management (Milano).
Marco graduated in Economics at Universita’ Bocconi, where he is a lecturer at the SDA Executive Master in Finance. In 2012 he has been Visiting Fellow at MIT Sloan Political Science Department in Boston. He lives in Zurich and has a daughter, Coraly, currently graduating in Civil Engineering and Architecture at Politecnico in Milano.
